What Is Cold-Pressed?
“Cold-Pressed” describes the method of juice-making. Rather than using a “centrifugal” juice extraction process (which most conventional juicers do), we extract juice through the tremendous pressure exerted by a hydraulic press, 6,000 lbs to be exact. Maximal amounts of natural fruit sugars, vitamins, trace minerals, enzymes, and other vital elements are preserved. This imparts to the juice an extremely fine quality and flavor which is unequaled by any other method of juice extraction.
We use a two-step hydraulic press machine, also known as a "Norwalk press".
Dr. Norman Walker a pioneer in raw food and a juicing advocate, created the Norwalk press in 1934 – the first juicer ever created. Dr. Walker, who juiced daily with his machine, lived to be a healthy and vibrant 99 years old.
The hydraulic press is a labor-intensive process and has two steps. Step one, the produce is ground into a pulp. In a second step, the produce is captured in a linen bag and thousands of pounds of pressure are gently applied, extracting fresh, living, raw, nutrient-rich juice. The only thing left behind is bone dry pulp. Another plus, each bottle of our juice can be kept in sealed, refrigerated bottles for 4 days. You can enjoy your juice without worrying about losing flavor, color or nutrients.
The Norwalk press is regarded by many as the best juicer in the world. In addition, the Gerson Institute highly recommends the Norwalk for patients adopting the “Gerson Therapy” for cancer treatment or other serious medical conditions. ( source:http://gerson.org/GersonTherapy/juicers.htm)
What Are The Benefits Of Cold-Pressed Juice?
The key benefits of the cold-pressed method are:
1. Nutrients and Enzymes Are Preserved. Because the cold-pressed method does not generate the heat that the centrifugal method does, fewer nutrients and enzymes are killed. Raw, unpasteurized cold pressed juices help you cleanse the body of impurities with the highest quality nutrients possible.
Minerals, vitamins, essential fatty acids, carbohydrates, proteins, anti-oxidants, and more are retained. All of the stuff your body needs to maintain good health.
Ideally you'll experience increased energy, glowing skin, a fortified immune system, stronger bones, and a tighter waistline. Raw juice will fight disease, and strengthen your heart among other health benefits.
2. Higher Yield. The cold-pressed method extracts much more juice and nutrients from the vegetables and fruit.Through a slow and careful process of hydraulically extracting fruit and vegetable juice, you not only get the highest quality plant-based nutrition available, you also get the freshest tasting juice possible.
Cold press juicers use just enough pressure to extract the juice while preserving its vitamins, enzymes, trace minerals and overall nutrients up to five times more than any other juicer.Because cold press juicing is so precise with its process of extraction, there is minimal air and heat so very little oxidation occurs.
3. Taste. The juice tastes cleaner and crisper. You not only get the highest quality plant-based nutrition available, you also get the freshest tasting juice possible.
Conclusion Cold-pressed juices naturally boost your immunity, provide an unusual sense of refreshment, rejuvenation, air, and energy to the body. We use a combination of quality conventional, organic, and local produce. Due to cost & availability in our region, it can be difficult to use only local and certified organic produce. We are committed to giving your body the very best, meaning we only use high quality fruits & vegetables to blend your juice.
